Our Data Science and Forecasting team is seeking a high caliber Data Science and Business Intelligence professional to help support our Retail Finance organization with business-critical solutions. This role will leverage data analytics, data engineering, and communication skills to work directly with our machine learning data science and BI teams to support Finance with data, automation, forecasting, and reporting to enable the organization to make informed and data-driven decisions.
What you'll do:
- Support the Forecasting and Data Science team with data requirements in support of time-series forecasting and machine learning models for critical business metrics
- Partner with our machine learning data scientists and build data pipelines to support the periodic outlook and quarterly forecasting processes utilizing SQL and Python
- Develop detailed working knowledge of Expedia Group’s data and processes, including forecasting
- Collect business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for building data/reporting solutions successfully
- Support our finance partners with ad-hoc data needs and create standardized visualization and reporting
- Build and manage a suite of data visualizations on Tableau dashboards and Looker
- Identify areas of improvement for our data model, performance, validation, visualization, and reporting challenges
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
- 5+ years Business Intelligence/Data Science or related experience
- Proven hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and Pyspark
- Proven hands-on experience of data lake concepts, capabilities, and technologies used for Data Science and BI solutions such as AWS, Querybook, Databricks, Jupyter, SQL Server, etc
- Proven hands-on experience with data analytics and data engineering
- Experience with Tableau reporting or other reporting and visualization tools
- Knowledge of financial forecasting and reporting systems
- Flexibility and agility with the ability to switch priorities on short notice
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $112,000.00 to $156,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $179,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
