Jacobs is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior Data Scientist. This senior-level position provides technical leadership within Jacobs’ Advisory Solution Group which has a focus on serving our Federal clients. Within this Advisory practice resides a specialty group of professionals who focuses on providing data-driven analytical solutions to a wide array of Federal organizations. Projects typically focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the built environment and the teams that manage it. Engagements range from data collection, database architecture, statistical analysis, visualization and reporting.
This position is responsible for guiding, developing, and maintaining Jacobs competitive advantage using advanced analytics and data science in support of internal Jacobs’ initiatives and external client needs. The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with recognized expertise in data management, statistics, computer languages, business process engineering, and system integration with the ability to train Jacob’s consultants/analysts. Typical analytical services range from simple data processing to fully integrated interactive decision support systems installed on existing client systems.
The individual’s experience must demonstrate progressive experience focused on data for client studies, modelling, EDA, data wrangling, ETL, and/or ML/AI. The successful candidate will possess the capability to identify opportunities and develop solutions with minimal oversight.
The successful candidate will be intellectually curious in the data/analytics field, developing new data practices/systems, and business opportunities. Candidate’s experience and demeanor will demonstrate the ability to effectively interact and build long-term relationships with internal Jacobs stakeholders and clients providing them with strategic intelligence and tactical solutions within the constraints imposed by the project or organizational structure.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- B.A. or B.S Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field) from an accredited university; Preferred Masters’ Degree
- Minimum 5+ years of data science experience required
- Fluency in Python, R, and/or other computing languages
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Experience with a variety of Business Intelligence tools including Tableau and PowerBI
- Proven and dynamic leadership capabilities; training relevant staff on technical data skills
- Proven ability to work directly with clients in complex analyses and presenting deliverables to non-technical personnel
- Ability to travel as necessary to meet project and client requirements
- Ability to pass background checks and related due diligence for security clearance. Active Secret or TS clearance preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be self-directed
- Proven ability to work within a collaborative team environment, excellent communication skills, and coordinate activities between program components
