Job Description:

Jacobs is on the lookout for a skilled J5 Data Scientist in Tampa, FL. The role emphasizes software programming with a focus on database development, maintenance, and enhancing performance metrics.

Program Mission:

In partnership with Jacobs, the USSOCOM J51 and J52 divisions collaboratively work to fortify the nation’s defense against irregular warfare and asymmetric challenges. Leveraging Jacobs’ specialized services and expertise, J51 crafts global approaches for SOF applications aligned with DoD’s Global Campaigns, while J52 formulates USSOCOM’s strategy, policy, and posture. Together, with Jacobs’ support, these divisions ensure the precise, informed, and dynamic allocation of Special Operations Forces to uphold and advance the objectives of the National Defense Strategy.In partnership with Jacobs, the USSOCOM J51 and J52 divisions collaboratively work to fortify the nation’s defense against irregular warfare and asymmetric challenges. Primary Responsibilities:

Design and implement relational database structures, ensuring efficient data flow and relationships.
Facilitate the collection, preparation, and analysis of data for various organizational needs, including wargaming.
Develop and implement complex queries, user interfaces, and reports, ensuring seamless integration with analytical tools.
Collaborate with technical experts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Create advanced data management tools to support statistical and predictive analysis.
Ensure data accuracy and validation, applying rigorous data-mining techniques.
Develop dynamic data visualizations and maps from diverse data sources.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

Basic Qualifications:

Expertise in database theory and relational database design.
Proficiency in programming languages such as R and/or Python.
Experience integrating with Microsoft applications including Excel, SharePoint, Access, and Word.
Ability to design and implement complex database solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in data analysis for strategic planning or defense organizations.
A background in facilitating and preparing data for assessments and wargaming is highly beneficial.
Individuals skilled in dynamic data visualization techniques and tools are highly desirable.
