  • Austin, TX

What You’ll Do

Qualified applicants may be reviewed by one or more of the following teams:
Energy | Data Science Engineer

  • The reliability data team collects real-time life data from test and fleet (energy, charging, and vehicle products) and is responsible for retrieving, analyzing and summarizing results to cross-functional teams. The team provides support through the whole design cycle by building software and statistical tools that orchestrate all the reliability physics analyses.

Energy | Product Engineer

  • Tesla Energy Products Service Engineering and Fleet Analytic team utilize fleet data and engineering fundamentals to monitor product performance, and root cause design, process, or firmware failures in our fleet of renewable energy hardware.
  • The person in this role would play a central role in ensuring we have the highest quality products for our customers. This person will work with a cross-functional team of engineers to define and track product KPIs, troubleshoot and diagnose device issues, deploy necessary corrective actions ranging from firmware changes, hardware design changes, manufacturing process or installation process changes, etc.

Energy | Service Engineering

  • The Energy Service NPI enables a healthy fleet of Energy products by coordinating the launch and scale of systems, tools, and information to empower Tesla to resolve unique and challenging technical problems in the deployed fleet efficiently and at scale.

  • We interface with virtually every team and system at Tesla, making our team one of the most FUN to be on. We get to help solve some of Tesla's most interesting and complex problems, like how to replace 2,000-pound battery modules in industrial storage sites around the world and how to design the most cost-effective AND most serviceable chargers for Semi Trucks. We use data analytics, custom software, mechanical, electrical, process, and industrial engineering expertise to tackle these problems with Design Engineering, Field Service, Tooling, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and many more teams.

  • Energy | Service Engineering Data Analytics and Infrastructure, Query Optimization

The Tesla Energy Service Engineering Data Analytics and Infrastructure team is responsible for leveraging the vast amount of data from the Energy fleet to ensure the best customer experience and fleet availability across the entire Tesla Energy portfolio; Industrial, Residential, Supercharger, and Solar. In this internship you will have a mandate to identify and improve the underlying algorithms and infrastructure supporting the entire Energy organization.

What You’ll Bring
