About The Role
The Data Science Team at Gap Inc. applies data analysis and machine learning techniques to drive business benefits for Gap Inc. and its brands. The team’s focus is on ML / AI and Analytical capabilities to support customer acquisition and retention, personalization, and marketing at Gap Inc. Areas of expertise include search and recommendation, segmentation, targeting, forecasting, marketing effectiveness measurement and optimizations, customer behaviors, site analytics and business growth initiatives. You will support the team to build and deploy Data and Analytics capabilities, in partnership with GapTech, PDM, Central Marketing & business partners across our brands.
What You’ll Do
- Leading the strategy, vision, and execution of Gen AI initiatives, Product Catalog, Predictive Customer Attributes and ML Tools.
- Develop and scale Gen AI initiatives across the org. This includes building latest Gen AI driven consumer and enterprise experiences across Gap
- Partner closely with ML Ops team and drive ML Ops requirements and roadmap along with DS Product Management
- Create a highly skilled org with Directors and Principal scientists to drive business impact
- Partner very closely with leaders of Product Management, Engineering and Brand leaders to help create very experiences for customers
- Communicate meaningful, actionable insights from large data and metadata sources to stakeholders
- Regularly influence leadership team decisions and initiatives
Who You Are
- Strong Technical leadership in ML/AI: Gen AI, Computer Vision, NLP
- Experience in building and deploying large scale computer vision and NLP applications.
- Strong technical skills in building ML / AI applications at scale
- Strong storytelling and influencing skills
- Ability to work both at a detailed level as well as to summarize findings and extrapolate knowledge to make strong recommendations for change
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence product and analytics roadmap, with a demonstrated proficiency in relationship building
- Develop innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment; cover a wide range of activities requiring complex judgments
- Comprehensive understanding of theories and practices in multiple related subject areas

Salary Range: $193,800 - $266,100 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
