What we are looking for:
We are looking for a Principal Data Scientist to analyse large amounts of raw information to find patterns that will help improve our business. We will rely on you to build data products to extract valuable business insights. In this role, you should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. We also want to see a passion for machine-learning and research. Principal Data Scientist is a key member of the development team that helps shape the capabilities of the product, create and define functional specifications, and ensure that the final product is of high quality and meets customer needs.
At Swimlane you will be working with product management and engineering teams to design, build and operate next-generation security automation and orchestration platforms and products.
- Design and develop sub systems of large scale security orchestration and automation platform
- Design and develop systems and applications for scale.
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes
- Undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data
- Analyse large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms
- Combine models through ensemble modeling
- Present information using data visualization techniques
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges
- Advocate for developing high-quality software and promote best practices to produce reliable,
- maintainable, and fault tolerant software.
- Convert proof of concepts and theories into highly functional systems.
- Raise the bar on engineering practices and code quality.
- Work with global cross-functional teams and projects against tight deadlines
Minimum Experience:
- BE / BTech / ME / MTech / PhD in Computer Science or technology related degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of progressive software development experience as data scientist or data analyst
- Hands on coding experience in implementation of complex distributed systems
- In depth knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design patterns and their applications
- Solid programming background in Python, SQL. Familiarity in C# or Java is an asset
- Strong NoSQL database and SQL knowledge including MongoDB, Postgres or MySQL
- Hands-on experience in cloud platforms such as AWS and devops technologies including
- Kubernetes, Docker and Terraform
- Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra)
- Problem-solving aptitude, good verbal and written communication
