Description
We're looking for a Junior Data Scientist to join our team. The End-User Centric Information Technology (IT) Support (ECIS) program is responsible for providing the support and solutions to Infrastructure and User Services Group initiatives (IUSG) and projects are effectively deployed to create the technology and organization outcomes desired. The ECIS delivers timely, responsive, and fact-based decisions/actions and provide support to our CMS ECIS customers. The ECIS organization, which consists of the Program, Management Office (PMO) and Service Area Organizations, is structured to ensure successful performance of all necessary tasks under the PWS within budget and on schedule. The CTO Organization is a valued strategic team within the ECIS and partners with CMS stakeholders to drive IT innovation and modernization with digital transformation solutions to support ever-evolving business needs of ECIS. As CMS plans new IT paths, the CTO Organization harnesses new technology such as data science, advanced analytics, AI/ML including cloud migration, to provide overarching, innovative, interoperable, and scalable solutions that enables self-service and provide the best end-user experience.
Experience in coding with open-source software like Pythons and R, specifically with available Data Science packages. Coding experience with SQL and Databases with strong statistical background. Understand the design of the systems with focus on Architecture, Analytics, AI/ML and Automation for the improved performance, throughput of the new/existing systems. Write test automation, conduct code reviews, and take end-to-end ownership of deployments to production. Be able to use Agile methodology on multiple projects. Take ownership and be self-motivated with hands-on work to lead and drive quality, and innovative products/solutions
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform Machine Learning Engineer responsibilities include: Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems and Implementing appropriate ML algorithms
- Running machine learning training and test models and experiments
- Work with the Data Science team to bring machine learning Analytics models into production including building and running Big Data processing pipelines.
- Investigate and resolve any production issues from end user (UI) to persistence layer and work to prevent them.
- Work with cross-functional teams and project managers to ensure that all project deliverables are on time and high quality.
- Perform prototyping and proof of concepts for potential new technical solutions with Engineering, Service Desk and Security
- Create the BI Analytics related reports and dashboards
Basic Qualifications
- BS in Data Science, Mathematics & Statistics with 0-1 year of experience
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
