We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join E2E Data & Analytics team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for modeling complex business problems and discovering insights through cutting-edge machine learning, statistical modeling, simulation, and optimization that empower our customers across Walmart E2E organization to make data-driven decisions. You will be tasked to set goals and closely collaborate with Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Data Governance teams and business stakeholders to deliver best-in-class analytical tools and solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Identifying opportunities and business problems and framing them into advanced data analytics project initiatives.
  • Extracting available and relevant data from internal and external data sources to perform data science solution development.
  • Performing exploratory data analysis to verify data quality and data integrity.
  • Design, analyze, and run both simulated and live experiments (A/B and multivariate tests) to drive KPI improvements.
  • Developing standard statistical models, machine learning or deep learning algorithms for building diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive data science solution.
  • Engineering new features by using business acumen to improve data science solution.
  • Collaborating with product management and engineering teams to deploy data science solution into production.
  • Communicating results and ideas to key decision makers in a concise, meaningful way that can be easily understood by business counterparts.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proficient coding in one or more languages: Java, C++, Python, Spark, Scala, or R
  • Proven advanced modeling experience in leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, driving and influencing project roadmaps.
  • Deep expertise in writing and debugging complex SQL queries.
  • Proficient in machine learning and data mining packages in Python.
  • Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Problem solving skills / Abstract thinking – ability to understand a real-life problem, make the right judgement of problem statement, and give a feasible design of solution.
  • Experience in interacting with business stakeholders and effectively drive conversations.
  • Experience on leveraging visualization to build compelling stories based on context to integrate multiple pieces of information into cohesive insights.

  • Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 3 - 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
