The Opportunity:
Firefly is a new family of creative generative AI models coming to Adobe products that offer a new way to conceptualize, build, and scale content. It’s a natural extension of the technology Adobe has produced over the past 40 years. At the core of Firefly are our commercially safe AI models trained on hundreds of millions of images owned or licensed by Adobe.
We are hiring for a high-impact, critical role - Adobe's first Data Scientist within the Firefly Analytics and Data Science Team! To bring Adobe's customer-centric approach to life, we must truly understand the product features that delight our customers, bring them back to our products, and understand the optimal customer journey. This role will directly impact the future roadmap, and strategy for Firefly and fuel its rapid adoption and usage!

What you’ll do:
- Develop machine learning models at scale from conceptualization to business impact
- Apply data mining, NLP, and machine learning to real-world problems and datasets
- Analyze massive data sets using statistical techniques to generate insights and make predictions
- Exhibit a very strong product mentality and proactively ideate, design, improve, and automate relevant data products
- Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analyses, model development, model validation, and model implementation
- Communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical customers through clear and concise reports, visualizations, and presentations to gain alignment and drive business actions
- Performs hands-on data analysis and modeling with large data sets, including discovering data sources, getting data access, cleaning up data, and making them “model-ready”.
- Be willing and capable of performing ETL and design/build featurization
- Build out processes and recommend tools that monitor, analyze, and continuously improve model performance and data accuracy
- Collaborates effectively with stakeholders to define success criteria and align model metrics with business goals
- Flawless collaboration with product managers, software engineers, and designers in crafting experiments and minimum-viable products
What you’ll need to succeed:
- BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent experience in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Physics, etc
- Proven professional industry experience within the field of data science
- Extensive hands-on expertise in machine learning (Supervised/Unsupervised, Causal, Bayesian, Reinforcement, or Deep Learning)
- Proficient in multiple optimization paradigms such as combinatorial optimization, gradient methods, or Bayesian optimization
- Demonstrated experience in NLP techniques, explainable AI, and ML frameworks
- Expertise with modern data science workflows on the cloud (Git, Jupyter, Python, AWS, Azure)
- Strong proficiency in querying and manipulating large datasets using SQL-like languages within a cloud environment (Databricks, Spark-SQL, Airflow)
- Expert in one or more data science tools such as Pandas, NumPy etc
- Proven experience building end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output delivery

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $127,300 -- $229,300 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
