Position Summary
We are seeking a candidate with a keen sense of natural curiosity who will play a crucial role in enhancing customer care and driving innovation through the application of machine learning and data science. In this position, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytics to develop products that significantly improve customer care experiences, particularly through digital platforms and Call Center Operations.
Our team applies data science methodologies to interdisciplinary business problems across Customer Care and Customer Experience. As a senior data scientist, you will work on an ambitious goal of retaining and developing the best CSR (Customer Service Representative), driving a simplified customer experience (CX) while reducing call volumes and costs, and expanding digital capacity and self-service channels. To succeed in this role, you must be able to:
- Develop advanced machine learning algorithms and proof of concepts to understand customers need and solve complex business problems at scale
- Drive adoption and usage of modern analytical products and models
- Frame problems, determine the intended approach, and recommend quantitative methods to answer targeted questions and develop solutions
- Write complex and efficient SQL code and leverage Exploratory Data Analysis techniques to develop insights from digital and call operations data.
- Translate analytical outputs into business outcomes/value delivered
- Input business requirements from various stakeholders, lead the analysis of vast amounts of data to synthesize strategies and tactics to solve complex problems
- Work closely with business stakeholders, service representatives and machine learning engineers to deliver products and analysis
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data analysis, machine learning, and deep learning
- Experience in statistical analysis and experiment design
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including experience with essential packages such as scikit-learn (sklearn), matplotlib, pandas, seaborn, PyTorch, Hugging Face, and OpenAI
- Experience documenting, synthesizing, and communicating results at all levels of the organization
- Familiar with version control systems (Git) and software engineering best practices
- Familiar with NLP and GenAI (Prompt Engineering, LlamaIndex, LangChain)
- Familiar with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Familiar with GCP (Big Query, Vertex AI, Dataproc, GKE)
Preferred Qualifications
- Analytical experience with digital or call center data is preferred
- Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development
- Proven attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent quantitative field.
- Master's degree or PhD preferred
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$106,605.00 – $206,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
