Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore

Business & Team: Join our dynamic Data Engineering team within the Technology division at CommBank. Our team is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support the organization's data-driven initiatives. We collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and secure.

Your work will enable data-driven decision-making across the organization, empowering teams to leverage data for strategic insights and innovation. By building robust data solutions, you will contribute to enhancing the financial wellbeing of our customers and driving the bank's success.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet their needs.
• Implement data quality and governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security.
• Optimize and tune data processing workflows for performance and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and documentation to support data accessibility and usability.
• Stay up to date with emerging data technologies and best practices and apply them to enhance our data infrastructure.
• Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Essential Skills:

• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• Strong experience in designing and building data pipelines using tools such as Apache Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query).
• Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
