What you’ll do…

We are looking for a creative, passionate, seasoned data scientist professional to join Inkiru Data Science team at Walmart. You will have the unique opportunity to work with massive business and social data generated by Walmart Inc.’s unparalleled online and offline commerce.

You will be responsible for using cutting-edge machine learning, deep learning, and optimization techniques to design and implement robust, scalable predictive models and analytics solutions. You will be a part of a cross-functional team of scientists, engineers, product managers, and business professionals that sit at the intersection of data science, big data, IT infrastructure, and business operations.

About Team:

Our team is focused on developing a streamlined, dependable company that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and Associate Digital Experience (ADE). We also provide a variety of services such as procurement, supplier portfolio management, merchandising master data, and analytics. From developing HR chatbots and virtual assistants to creating invoice solutions and facilitating legal changes, we help drive efficiency across Walmart globally.

What you’ll do:

Perform hands-on data exploration, processing, and analysis on massive data sets. Use machine learning, deep learning, and data mining techniques to develop robust predictive models in areas such as in-store mobile payments and shrink reduction.

Lead MLOPs lifecycle from end-to-end, including solution design, feature engineering, solution development, testing, tuning, and monitoring. Communicate the results to stakeholders and present the projects in internal or external conferences.

Research and develop advanced algorithms and techniques that address complex business problems. Coach junior data scientists and supervise their day-to-day operations.

What you’ll bring:

Technical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical analysis. Proficient in data mining, machine learning, and deep learning packages in Python/Tensorflow/Keras.
Experience working with large data sets and cloud computing (Hive, Spark, GCP, or Azure). Proficient in coding SQL and Python. Programming experience in Java or Javascript is preferred.
A proven track record of leading innovation such as Medium Blog, patents, or conference presentation is preferred. Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in any STEM field plus 8+ years of related experience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative development environment. Good communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical associates.
8+ years of professional experience. Risk management experience is a plus.
2+ years of people management experience

The annual salary range for this position is $184,000.00-$260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
