What you’ll be doing…

This position will drive profitable growth and business innovation by applying cutting edge machine learning techniques and AI technology. It will lead data science projects that drive better customer network experience, network optimization, operational efficiency, and business forecast. Network performance provides support and guidance related to network development initiatives, network performance initiatives and its operations. Ideal candidate for this role is a skilled data scientist with expertise in Network domain and has implemented solutions in network performance management. Has designed, led and delivered technical solutions that provide insights into the network performance area. Has out of the box thinking and is able to connect with various stakeholders showing the findings.

You’ll create analytical models to predict customer network experience, network equipment reliability, network events, and support Network QES. You’ll then present the results to various business partners such as network operations, network planning, network engineering, and network assurance. You will work closely with a team of talented data scientists, Big Data engineers, and software developers and play a key role in developing and delivering the next generation AI/ML solutions to the business.

Developing resolutions to complex problems, using your sharp judgment to develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria enables you to deliver solutions that make a big impact. You’re able to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and you take pride in your ability to share your considerable knowledge with your peers.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading engagement with key business stakeholders in discussion on business strategies and opportunities.
  • Building strong working relationships and develop deep partnership with the business.
  • Leading large portfolios of data science projects and deliver innovative technical solutions to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
  • Leading the design and development of machine learning/statistical models and ensure best performance.
  • Working closely with engineers to deploy models in production both in real time and in batch process and systematically track model performance.
  • Being a subject matter expert on machine learning and predictive modeling and a mentor to junior data scientists.
  • Driving technical innovation through active research and applications of new theories, techniques, and technologies.

You work independently and are always willing to learn new technologies. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are able to interact with various partners and multi-functional teams to implement data science driven business solutions.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Expert level knowledge of AI/ML models, statistical modeling and optimization techniques.

  • Strong hands-on programming experience with demonstrated expertise in Python.

  • Strong expertise in SQL and database management.

  • Experience in leading large scale data science projects and delivering from end to end.

  • Experience with Big Data platforms such as Hadoop and Spark.

  • Experience with GCP, AWS or other cloud computing services.

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking capabilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal influencing skills.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent. A Ph.D. in Statistics, Math, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science preferred.

  • Solid foundational quantitative knowledge and skills; extensive training in math, statistics, physical science, engineering, or other related fields.

  • Experience with Deep Learning, NLP and chatbot technology is a plus.

  • Experience in Forecasting and Time Series analysis.
