Position Summary: Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in New York, NY: Principal Data Scientist to lead the development, validation and delivery of algorithms, statistical models, and reporting tools.
Duties include:
- lead the development and execution of new and/or highly complex algorithms and statistical predictive models and determines analytical approaches and modeling techniques to evaluate scenarios and potential future outcomes;
- establish analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses.;
- assist with analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation and testing;
- apply in-depth knowledge of systems and products to consult and advise on additional efforts across organization/enterprise;
- anticipate and solve strategic and high-risk business problems with broad impact on the business area by applying leading-edge theories and techniques to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions; provide guidance to develop enterprise-wide analytics strategy and roadmap;
- interacts with internal and external peers and management to share highly complex information/solutions related to areas of expertise and/or to gain acceptance of new or enhanced technology/ business solutions; manages analytics team(s) for one or more product areas;
- leads development of solutions with moderate complexity and risk with business area implications. Understands and recommends modeling techniques to data scientists;
- mentors junior team members;
- leads multiple large cross-functional project teams;
- and leads the client relationship with senior business leaders as their single point of contact. Multiple openings.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of progressive, postbaccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience in each of the following:
- Experimental design, causal and empirical modeling methods, model explainers, and healthcare data;
- Technical data science leadership applying machine learning to large datasets for healthcare or similar applications;
- Healthcare business case development and cost savings estimation;
- Big Data, Machine Learning, and Python;
- Building and running products and applications;
- Azure Cloud, GCP, and Teradata;
- PySpark, Python, Shell Scripting, and SQL;
- and Building data pipelines, data modeling, architecture, and governance concepts.
Pay Range: $140000.00/year to $280000.00/year.
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
