American Express Company seeks Managers, Data Science. This person is expected to work on Credit Risk Modeling and is responsible for:

  • Development of modeling framework to meet the credit reserve standards set by the Financial Accounting and Standards Boards (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Boards (IASB).
  • Development and enhancement of loss forecasting models for credit and charge card portfolios.
  • Partner across finance, risk, and technology teams to derive strategic insights by leveraging visualization and reporting tools. Research and deploy emerging technologies to ensure successful quantitative analytical - approaches and techniques to advance business goals.
  • Ongoing performance tracking of loss forecasting models and variance analysis of credit reserve levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Position requires a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 2 years of experience with applying statistical and econometric modeling techniques to solve business problems in the financial industry. Previous model development experience is desirable.
  • The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a tremendous will to win.
  • Fluency with data manipulation tools like Python, PySpark, SAS or SQL
  • Ability to apply advanced statistical and/or other quantitative techniques to solve business problems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are a plus.

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
