Qualifications:
- 8+ years of deep industry experience in predictive & algorithmic modeling, data science, and data analysis, specifically with experience in developing FinTech products.
- Experience in startup, scale and exits and/or entrepreneurial environments.
- Experience with ML fields, e.g., predictive analytics and financial modeling, statistical learning theory.
- Experience in data scientist role building and mentoring.
- Experience with maintaining and monitoring ML models in a production environment.
- Expertise in modelling & building systems using Python.
- Experience in diving into data to discover hidden patterns, using data visualization tools, writing SQL, and working with modern tools to develop models.
- Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.
Responsibilities:
- Fully accountable for the success and failure of the Data Science team technical deliveries.
- Collaborate with business domain subject matter experts in various departments to understand the problem and the objectives.
- Research and build innovative predictive statistical models for all areas of the business.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for a non-technical audience.
- Maintain, tune, improve model behavior with live data for the company’s credit decision model for lending operations to drive profitability.
- Provide mentorship to junior data scientists in aspects of machine learning, data and software engineering, and assist them with practical guidance, when needed.
- Strong teaching and mentoring skills for the purpose of building up talent and delegating responsibilities to ensure maximum productivity and grow the team
