We seek a passionate and results-driven Director of Marketing Analytics to join our team. This player-coach position will be responsible for the leadership of analytics managers, developing & executing against analytics product roadmaps, and enhancing marketing’s ability to measure through the creation of trusted standardized tracking, data sources, reports, and analytics. They must be able to coach, motivate, and train team members to drive a high-performance analytics team. They will partner with leadership in marketing and digital as they migrate from conversion-focused KPIs to engagement and long-term value performance measurement. They will support the development of innovative, privacy-centric approaches to incrementality measurement. This individual should have a high degree of curiosity about the business and the skills to discover impactful insights from data and communicate those insights in a way that builds confidence and enables decisions that drive business value.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Establish a best-in-class analytics practice that enables marketing to understand performance, optimize tactics, and plan future investments
  • Become a trusted analytics business partner to marketing stakeholders
  • Lead a world-class team of data scientists and analysts, focusing on building a high-performance team
  • Oversee attribution technology (model logic, end-user reporting, training) and ensure marketing leaders are gaining valuable insights
  • Partner with marketing stakeholders to develop analytics product roadmaps that prioritize the most critical insights and craft a communication plan to appropriately evangelize the team’s work to stakeholders and the company
  • Execute against analytics product roadmaps while supporting ad-hoc analytics requests as they arise.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of intuitive decision-support data products for marketing stakeholders.
  • Develop deep partnerships with product, engineering, and cross-functional support teams to deliver insightful analytics.
  • Become an analytics player when needed by performing analysis & providing actionable recommendations to various stakeholders across marketing, sales, product, and operations.
  • Communicate key business insights to executive leadership
  • Stay informed on the latest industry trends in data analytics

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • 10+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics, with at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role and at least 5 years’ experience in Marketing analytics and media performance measurement required.
  • BA/BS degree, ideally with an emphasis on coursework of a quantitative nature (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Sciences). An advanced degree (MSc or Ph.D.) in statistics, mathematics, economics, applied science, or an equivalent STEM degree is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams that include highly educated (PhD) data scientists and providing technical direction to analysts with solid coding skills in Python or R
  • 2+ years with graphics/visualization software (e.g., Shiny, ggplot, matplotlib, Tableau), either hands-on or managing a team that used these tools
  • Deep Marketing and media buying and optimization knowledge across online and offline channels, including TV, OOH, OTT, Display, SEO, SEM, Affiliate, CRM, Brand, PR, etc.
  • Experience working with and managing Marketing Mix Modeling vendors and/or building or in-house Marketing Mix Models.
  • Experience working with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)
  • Experience in business process analysis, data architecture design, and the implementation of workflow-enabled solutions

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA, PhD, or other advanced degree in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience working in technology, consulting, retail, or marketing agency
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing analytics teams
  • Deep understanding of consumer behavior and marketing analytics with the ability to influence business decisions.
  • A nuanced understanding of diverse and inclusive hiring and leadership practices 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R) (5+ years of hands-on experience)
  • 5+ years of experience with ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., caret, spark, sci-kit-learn, pandas, numpy, TensorFlow, pytorch, Keras, theano, seaborn, matplotlib, etc.)
  • Familiarity with analytics
  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis and quantitative methods/theory (e.g., statistics, experimental design, Machine Learning, etc.), with a pragmatic attitude to statistical modeling, emphasizing rigor in exploratory data analysis and thorough data preparation.
  • Hands-on experience working with Google Analytics
  • Excellent diagnostic skills to analyze and identify discrepancies within sophisticated models and effectively give guidance to troubleshooting.
  • Superior research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to translate complex concepts and methodologies into easily understood language for non-technical audiences

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

California: $182,000-300,500 Annually,

Washington: $182,000-300,500 Annually
