The program
The DarkStar Group is a member of 100% of the winning teams for the largest technology program in the Intel Community. We've been supporting this customer on many different sub-projects of this program since our founding in 2013. We've grown on this effort by providing the customer with Engineers who have done exceptional work, and we've retained our staff by paying very strong salaries, and working hard to ensure each Engineer is doing work that aligns with their career interest.
The project
The Sponsor is an IT-oriented office that aims to revolutionize analysis by creating and supporting tools that enable analysts to find relevant information more effectively, to identify connections across datasets, and efficiently publish reports to the community. It also provides IT consultation services to help various customers to achieve their strategic goals. To that end, the Sponsor requires expertise in data science to help identify and facilitate integration of AI/ML capabilities into Sponsor-developed enterprise applications.
The role
- The Contractor shall identify and advise the Sponsor about the feasibility of integrating AI/ML capabilities—both internally developed "experimental" capabilities and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) packages—into existing enterprise applications used for search and discovery or the production of reports.
- The Contractor shall advise and assist in integration of AI/ML capabilities into the Sponsor’s existing enterprise applications as required.
- The Contractor shall review commercial, open source, and government-provided technical information, systems, and demonstrations to evaluate claims of system performance and capabilities.
- The Contractor shall advise the Sponsor about the feasibility of technical requirements and the plausibility of technical claims.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience collecting and interpreting customers’ technical requirements and (including AI/ML requirements) translating those requirements into action items for solicitation or development.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating technical information, systems, and demonstrations—particularly AI/ML focused—in light of requirements and communicating conclusions to customers.
- Demonstrated experience performing system testing to validate performance and functionality claims and to assess integration potential with existing systems.
- Demonstrated experience working in a technical environment with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating tools and algorithms that perform natural language processing, data mining, and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with machine learning concepts and associated computing frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience developing for, and deploying software onto, cloud computing environments such as Amazon Web Services.
- Demonstrated experience working in a technical environment with data formats such as XML, and JSON.
- Demonstrated experience working in a technical environment with hierarchical, relational, and non-structured databases.
- Demonstrated experience working in a technical environment with programming languages such as SQL, No-SQL, Python, C++, Java, and Ruby on Rails.
Desired Skills (Optional)
- Demonstrated experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into existing enterprise applications.
- Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s datasets, to include unstructured, structured, and semi-structured datasets
- Demonstrated experience working with the Sponsor’s analyst cadre and familiarity with the Sponsor’s analytic culture.
- Demonstrated experience working with large language models and general artificial intelligence models.
- Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and an established track-record for working across organizations while effectively engaging with analysts, managers, developers, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience working with the Sponsor’s startup incubator, to identify, evaluate, and transition commercial software tools.
- Demonstrated experience with functional evaluation of the Sponsor's proprietary software.
- Academic and or work experience in the fields of Data Science, Operations Research, or Computer Science.
