Employment Information
Summary of Duties: Responsible for collaborating with IT to prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured data for data discovery and mining from multiple disparate resources. Builds high-end analytic models, utilizing supervised and unsupervised learning models, to support decision makers with data driven insights that address immediate business problems and objectives. Creates informative visualizations that intuitively display large amounts of data and/or complex relationships. Translates data analytics into coherent reports and presentations for internal and external customer with varying degrees of technical knowledge. Routinely uses anonymized or encrypted data. Works with Customers on their SAS Modernization journey. Performs Viya 4 adoption by migrating analytic assets from SAS legacy software to run on Viya’s cloud-native architecture. Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Computer Vision/Image Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Open Source Integration with SAS. Deliver Global Advisory services in the Americas, including client workshops that involve multiple stakeholders, analytic maturity assessments, or other consultative activities aimed at helping a client develop a roadmap for digital and analytic transformation. Prepare and present end-to-end analytic lifecycle demonstrations. Leverage big data from disparate sources to create data-driven insights and develop a governed ModelOps approach for customers to operationalize and deploy analytical models. Lead “Innovation Labs” with clients, by developing new analytic use cases that can be addressed using Viya, working directly with customers on requirements. Position self as thought leader through writing articles, papers or blogs on analytic topics. May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.
Qualifications: Position requires a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in a related occupation.
Position requires experience analyzing data and building analytical models. Requires strong knowledge of SAS Viya. Requires strong knowledge of open sources packages SASPy, python-sasctl and python-swat. Requires extensive experience with external customer facing presentations, meetings, and demonstrations. Requires experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, knowledge discovery in databases, optimization, statistical theory, experimentation, and time series analysis. Requires the ability to manipulate voluminous data with different degree of structuring across disparate sources to generate and communicate actionable insights for internal or external parties. Requires knowledge of applied statistics, probability, data modeling techniques, predictive modeling techniques, and in-sample and out-of-sample model assessment. Requires strong aptitude with at least two operating systems supported by SAS software, such as Unix or Windows. Requires the ability to relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical users. Requires business domain expertise in at least one industry or business area. May work remotely pursuant to SAS’ Flexible Work Program.
