Employment Type: Full-time, Remote Brief Overview: As a Data Scientist at Human Rights First, you will hold a pivotal role in leveraging and advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning to promote and extend human rights. Your responsibilities will involve designing and constructing sophisticated machine learning models, exploring uses and applications of AI, helping to extract meaningful and actionable data from diverse data streams, as well as refining and updating existing systems.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop statistical, machine learning, and AI models using R or Python to enhance our business operations.
  • Explore both internal and external data sources to uncover insights and improve model performance.
  • Perform feature engineering, model validation, testing, and optimization to ensure robust and accurate models.
  • Collaborate with IT and business intelligence teams for seamless model implementation and validation.
  • Provide strategic recommendations backed by rigorous analytics, deep business understanding, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to effectively communicate analytical results to stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement emerging ML technologies to stay at the forefront of industry trends.

Requirements

  • Strong creative problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning concepts and their practical applications.
  • Proficiency in machine learning, data exploration, and visualization tools such as R and/or Python.
  • Intermediate skills with querying languages like SQL or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply statistical modeling techniques to solve complex business problems.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or technical field (Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field).
  • At least 2 years of relevant Data Science experience, showcasing your ability to deliver impactful insights and drive business results.
