Data Scientist
Employment Information
As a Data Scientist with our team, you will be working with our federal clients to rapidly develop innovative solutions for our addressing immediate mission challenges. In this role, you will work on teams with other data scientists, software developers, and SMEs to apply the best practices and state of the art data science and machine learning processes. In this position, you will develop rapid prototype solutions to mission challenges by leveraging existing open-source models and technologies. Sample topic areas may include object detection, data triage, search/optimization, image/video analysis, facial recognition, behavior detection, and automated discovery.
On our team, you will:
- Identify, adapt, and integrate state-of-the-art research and open-source technologies into creative solutions.
- Develop and train new machine learning models.
- Identify, curate, and process large data sets.
- Research, apply, analyze, and document technical approaches and their outcomes.
- Leverage various computing resources such as GPU clusters and cloud-based compute servers.
- Required Qualifications
Required Skills:
- A degree in a STEM field such as computer science, statistics, data analytics, computer engineering, mathematics, or physics
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional work experience*
- Experience using ML and data science packages such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn
- Experience leveraging open-source models and adapting them to generate custom solutions
- Desired Qualifications
Desired skills and knowledge:
- Comfortable using development tools such as VSCode, github/gitlab, Jira, and Confluence
- Familiarity with database systems such as PostgreSQL
- Demonstrated experience working with open-source datasets
- Familiarity with data science best practices and methodologies
- Familiarity with Agile development workflows

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
