Position Overview
Architect Navistar’s data-driven revolution as our newest Data Scientist you will help architect of our data-driven future. You'll wield cutting-edge analytics to unlock the potential within our data, guiding critical business decisions and propelling growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering, organizing, and interpreting structured and unstructured data from multiple internal and external sources
- Assist in analyzing large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to measure performance and inform business growth or cost savings opportunities
- Extract key results from uncleansed data, and succinctly summarize findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in time series forecasting models, statistical methods such as (S)ARIMA, exponential smoothing or machine learning algorithms for demand forecasting
- Research new theories and technologies to help solve business problems
Minimum Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural Science, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative field and no experience and will obtain degree prior to first day of employment OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science/Analytics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural Science, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative field
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
- Experience in data munging using SQL, Python and pySpark a plus PowerBI, PowerPoint and Excel
- Proficiency in data analysis techniques, regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, and optimization
- Experience working with Big Data technologies (Cloudera Hadoop, Snowflake, etc)
- Experience with Azure Synapse, Databricks and Palantir Foundry is a plus
