Develops and applies interdisciplinary methods, algorithms, statistics, and research techniques in the development of data driven solutions to extract knowledge, provide insights, and present information from data in various structures and unstructured forms.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Performs analysis of data systems, such as Big Data systems *
  • May perform statistical analysis and provide input for reports and dashboards
  • Involved with the development of data products, reports, and dashboards or other display techniques*
  • Evaluates data, algorithms, and their interaction to improve algorithm performance*
  • May apply advanced statistics, including natural language processing and machine learning to create solutions
  • May assist in data modeling and data virtualization
  • May write code to preprocess and clean data

Required Experience

  • BS or higher degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or similar STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience relevant to data science, data engineering, and DoD.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required; Candidate must possess U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Huntsville, AL within 1 year of employment.
  • Demonstrable experience with data analysis, engineering, and visualization techniques, tools, and pipelines. List these on your resume.
  • Significant experience with Data Management and Data Engineering practices, processes, and principles.
  • Experience with Dimensionality Reduction, Principal Component Analysis, Independent Component Analysis, Feature Engineering, and other data analysis techniques.
  • Ability to visualize data analysis results for presentation to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyze and compare data sets between and across data sources.
  • Experience with algorithm development and data analysis in common programming languages (e.g., Python, C#, Julia, SQL) and tools (e.g., Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, Qlik, Excel, PowerBI).
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
  • Understanding of business process improvement and optimization following approaches such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or higher degree Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or similar STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrable applied DevOps, DevSecOps, or MLOps experience.
  • Experience working with RF waves and communications data.
  • Applied Mathematics experience in areas such as Statistics, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, and Partial Differential Equations.

Minimum Salary $106,000.00

Maximum Salary $120,000.00
