About the position:

As a Data Scientist at Kyla, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, working alongside medical providers, product leaders, engineers, and AI scientists. Your role involves leveraging your expertise in statistical analysis, programming, machine learning, and Bayesian Networks to extract meaningful insights from diverse healthcare datasets. You will play a key role in developing and implementing advanced data science solutions that contribute to Kyla’s mission of improving life expectancy.

What you need to succeed:

  • Statistical Analysis: you should have a strong foundation in statistical methods to analyze and interpret data. This includes knowledge of probability, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other statistical techniques.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages is a must. You must have hands-on experience with Java.
  • Machine Learning: Hands on experience in applying machine learning algorithms. This includes supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, regression, clustering, and feature engineering.
  • Problem-Solving: You should have strong problem-solving skills to approach complex issues, formulate hypotheses, and iteratively test and refine solutions.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

As a plus:

  • Bayesian Networks Expertise: As we use Bayesian Networks, the ideal candidate should have expertise in probabilistic graphical models, particularly Bayesian Networks. This includes the ability to model and infer relationships among variables, handle uncertainty, and update beliefs based on new evidence
  • Healthcare domain knowledge: Experience in the healthcare domain is a big plus.
  • Experience with Data Visualization using tools like Tableau.
  • Experience with Big Data tech, like Hadoop, Spark, and distributed computing is a plus.
  • Database Knowledge: SQL and NoSQL.

What you will do:

  • Problem Definition: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives and define clear and specific data science problems.
  • Data Collection: Identify and gather relevant data from various sources, ensuring the data is accurate, comprehensive, and suitable for analysis.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct exploratory data analysis to understand the structure and patterns within the data.
  • Model Development: Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to develop predictive models, classification algorithms, regression models, or clustering algorithms based on the defined problem.
  • Model Evaluation: Assess the performance of models using appropriate metrics and fine-tune them as needed. This may involve cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, and other optimization techniques.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor the performance of deployed models and update them as needed to adapt to changing data patterns or business requirements.
  • Helping our medical providers to incorporate their knowledge into our AI products.
