About the Role
As a Data Scientist II at Uber, you will lead complex data science projects that drive critical business decisions and fuel the company's growth. You will work with large datasets, apply advanced analytical techniques, and develop models to extract valuable insights. Your expertise will be pivotal in solving high-impact problems, optimizing processes, and providing actionable recommendations. This role offers the opportunity to shape Uber's data strategy and contribute to the development of innovative data products that enhance user experiences and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and execute data science projects from concept to deployment.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets.
- Develop predictive models to solve complex business problems.
- Design and conduct experiments, including A/B tests, to evaluate the impact of changes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-driven opportunities and solutions.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations and reports.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior data scientists.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data science and incorporate new techniques as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Drive the continuous improvement of data science practices and processes within the team.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science or related fields.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data mining techniques.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Solid understanding of experimental design and A/B testing.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business problems into data science projects.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience leading data science projects and mentoring junior data scientists
