Primary Position Objective:

We are seeking a driven and analytically minded Data Scientist with a strong data science foundation and expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence. The ideal candidate will be a bridge between the intricate world of data analytics and the real-world challenges of the insurance sector. You will engage in advanced modeling and analytical techniques to provide critical insights and drive data-driven strategic decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to understand the nuances, patterns, and anomalies within the data to deliver the necessary reports identified by senior members of the team
  • Support development, validation, and deployment of machine learning & statistical models to predict, classify, and optimize various business outcomes.
  • Develop an understanding of delivering data science models in a production environment.
  • Remain up to date with the latest state of the art in Data Science and related fields
  • Collaborate with team members to scope, document, understand, and complete tasks and incorporate feedback
  • Understand project and team scope as it relates to broader initiatives; communicating project findings and key results to management

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field and 1 year of work in a field related to Data Science or a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field and 2 years of work in a field related to Data Science
  • 1+ year experience with machine learning techniques and predictive modeling
  • 1+ year experience with SQL and Python, R, or a similar scripting language
  • 1+ year experience with common machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn

Location Requirements:

  • The primary hiring location of is Chevy Chase, MD, additional locations may be available in the job posting.
  • Associates are expected to work a hybrid schedule, 3 days in the office every week.

Annual Salary

$76,000.00 - $185,000.00 The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
