About The Role
Working as part of a multi disciplinary team with Forest Green Rovers First Team you will be providing performance insights to support performance analysis, recruitment, sports science and medical departments.
This will include management visualisation and delivery of data analysis to key staff including Head Coach, Director of Football, Lead Performance and Recruitment Analyst, Head of Recruitment, Head of Sports Science and Head of Medical from a variety of data sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of relationships with external data and data visualisation providers
- Ensure data capture and management of internal and external databases
- Support Opposition Analysis including Set Pieces with statistical insights
- Provide Matchday and Training Reports using Physical GPS data
- Mathematical modelling of individual performance data to support player recruitment processes
- Delivery of Post-Match Team performance insights through benchmarking practices
- Support individual player development plans with objective data
- Enhance the automation of data services across departments
- Innovatively find new / alternative ways of analysing, visualising and delivering data
- Maintain & enhance performance benchmarking models
- Development of internal applications
- Any other duties as asked for by the Director of Football
- Ad hoc duties as requested by key staff
About You
Key Skills:
- BSc/ MSc in a quantitative subject – Mathematics Computer Sciences Physics or Economics
- Competency in statistical computing languages (R / Python)
- Strong Knowledge of Statistical Methods and Data Science
- Experience visualising data and building dashboards (Tableau)
- Experience working with sports data in a high-performance environment
- Experience with REST APIs and JSON scripts
- Proactively engage with and apply new research within data science
- Excellent and effective communication of data with strong presentation skills
- Knowledge or experience in software development an advantage
