ARE YOU THE R&D, DATA SCIENTIST WE'RE LOOKING FOR?
To thrive in the role of full-time R&D Data Scientist at Castle Biosciences in Friendswood, TX, you'll need a formidable arsenal of skills and experiences. An advanced degree (PhD) with a focus on data science, coupled with 3-4 years of prior involvement in clinical and biological data analysis, will pave your path to success. Your journey should also include at least 1 year of hands-on experience in high-throughput gene expression or genomics data, as well as proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning. Command over data programming languages such as R, Python, Java, and SQL, along with expertise in version control systems like Git, is essential. Your meticulous attention to detail, combined with exceptional organizational and communication skills, will set you apart as a champion in unraveling the mysteries of data.

The knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Must have achieved an academic rank of Instructor (Assistant Professor preferred) or an industry equivalent.
- Must have directed the analysis of but not have been the only analytical contributor to a Multi-Institution National (or International) bioinformatics project AND provide citations for said project.
- Advanced degree (PhD) with an emphasis on data science and data analysis.
- 3-4 years of prior experience with clinical and biological data analysis.
- 1 year of experience with high-throughput gene expression or genomics data AND/OR spatial-omics data.
- 1 year of experience with command line operation.
- 1 year of experience with statistical analysis of data (summary statistics survival analysis regression etc.).
- 1 year of experience with machine learning and statistical modeling.
- Experience with common office software (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong experience with data and text processing including data reshaping.
- Strong experience with data programming and scripting languages (R, Python, Java, and SQL required).
- Experience with version control and team development (git required).
- Strong publication record.
- Actively displays behaviors that support the mission, vision, and values of Castle Biosciences.

- Flexible work schedule with usual office hours, with occasional time spent outside of normal business hours as required.
