Employment Information

Responsibilities: Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets. Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.

Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to discover patterns, trends, and performance insights from extensive, high-dimensional sensor financial data. Train, test, and validate predictive and diagnostic models using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for classification, regression, and time-series analysis. Profile data sources to assess content, structure, quality, and utility in a sparse data environment. Define analytical experiments to validate hypotheses and test potential solutions using statistical analysis methods on historical data. Use mechanistic models to understand the underlying dynamics of how physical assets operate and build models to forecast that. Interface with various engineering teams to convert domain expertise into product. Work with customers to gather direct feedback and build better solutions. Work with the development team to improve Innovyze's platform. Work with Jupyter style collaborative notebooks, preferably in a cloud environment (AWS).

Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Minimum education/experience requirements:

Master's degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a data science-related occupation. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted.

Skill Requirements:

Position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Experience directly handling and providing resolution to customer concerns and project related problems. Experience simultaneously leading multiple projects facilitating multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience with Data Science libraries in Python such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, TensorFlow/Pytorch, Scikit-learn, among others, to produce code suitable for production.
  • Experience with Application of Energy Based modeling and Swarm Optimization to design and implement the solution to the optimization problems for resource allocation.
  • Experience with all stages of model development: hypothesis development; executing experiments for model selection; utilizing AWS services to promote into production the selected model.
  • Experience utilizing knowledge of Matrix Profile and computationally efficient algorithms for its construction (STOMP, SCRIMP++), to identify and discover significant Motifs in time-series data.
  • Experience with Application of Self-Organized Maps, t-SNE (i.e., non-linear dimensionality reduction tools) to extract actionable information about clusters and patterns in high dimensional data.

Position also requires at least 1 year of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Experience training, testing, and validating predictive and diagnostic models using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for classification, regression of time-series data.
  • Experience leveraging techniques from Empirical time-series analysis such as Autocorrelation, Impulse Response Function, GARCH, among others, as part of EDA and feature generation (features to satisfy statistical tests and significance) for time-series modeling.
