POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • Lead the development, validation, implementation and documentation of machine learning models to be used for decisioning and product management across Alliant’s product/service portfolio;
  • Work with internal clients to understand the business needs, propose appropriate quantitative solutions, develop data-driven recommendations to achieve business objectives and communicate findings back to business stakeholders;
  • Acquire and integrate data from multiple data sources for analysis, perform exploratory to advanced predictive analytics, and identify data relationships such as trends, patterns and correlations in order to answer business questions as well as provide actionable recommendations;
  • Develop and deploy technically robust solutions to production environments by collaborating with cross-functional partners including Business Intelligence and Information Technology (Database Engineers, Application Development and Information Security);
  • Contribute to the data science competency within the company by developing and establishing standards and practices. Lead data science projects and mentor other data scientists;
  • Evangelize data science within the business and be a partner in bringing data science capabilities throughout the business teams. 100% telecommuting;

Responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Business Analytics or related field or foreign equivalent degree. 5 years of related experience. Required Skills: Build machine learning models to solve business problems using Python, Spark or R (5 yrs); Perform statistical tests and construct experiments to measure various business outcomes using Python, Spark, Excel or R (5 yrs); Acquire, manipulate and analyze data using Python and/or Spark (5 yrs); Query and manipulate database tables using SQL and SQL-like languages (5 yrs); Deploy Machine learning models and data pipelines to production environments (2 yrs); Lead and mentor data scientists in data science projects (2 yrs). 100% telecommuting; no residence requirement. Co headquarters in Chicago, IL.

Full time. $140,000 - $150,000/year. Competitive compensation and benefits.
