The Opportunity:

The Digital Imaging (Photoshop and Lightroom) Data Science Team is looking for a seasoned Data Engineering Manager who is passionate about data and driving the direction of products that allow millions of people bring their creativity to light. Working alongside a robust team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers, you will partner closely with Product Managers, Product Marketing Managers, and Software Engineers to build a data architecture that supports accurate and efficient decision making. You will start as a hands-on architect, creating a roadmap for delivering a set of capabilities that support the long-term sustainability of our data platforms and pipelines. Over time, you will use your leadership expertise to build out a team that will scale to the data engineering and BI needs of our product teams.

The ideal candidate for this role will have strong data infrastructure and data architecture skills, proven success leading and scaling data engineering & BI teams, solid project management skills, and a vision for driving BI services in a fluid environment. What You’ll Do:

  • Hands-on architect with effective people management experience.
  • Define and implement a technical roadmap sought at driving the long-term scale of our BI and Data Warehousing platforms.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Data Engineers and BI Developers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Build multi-functional relationships with Product Management, Product Marketing, and Growth to drive actionable data requirements.
  • Own and optimize technical standards and platform documentation.
  • Drive data quality, governance, and compliance with organizational security standards.
  • Drive the architecture and deployment of new datasets, pipelines, and dashboards in a production environment.
  • Proactively diagnose performance issues and implement performance tuning techniques to improve platform scale.
  • Effectively handle a backlog of requests while adhering to established SLAs.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience working with large scale data, developing innovative data solutions in a cloud environment.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on people management experience, hiring, onboarding, and developing top talent.
  • Experience leading and scaling technical teams.
  • Strong leadership savvy, with demonstrated experience incepting and driving projects independently.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Extensive experience with BI platforms (i.e., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration platforms (i.e., Airflow, MuleSoft, SnapLogic).
  • Ability to optimize and tune data pipelines for performance and scalability.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and database design methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with modern cloud platforms (i.e., Azure, AWS, GCP).
  • Experience with Databricks (on Azure or AWS) is a plus.
  • Experience with web analytics platforms (i.e., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics) is a plus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $115,000 -- $247,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
