We are seeking an experienced, innovative Data Scientist with a passion for delivering new industry solutions to market as part of an internal AI Consulting and Advisory group with a mission to identify and & unlock opportunities new AI and Generative AI-based revenue. You will be skilled in a variety of AI, machine learning and/or optimization tools, tenacious and able to deliver robust data-centric solutions across all stages of the product lifecycle.
The ideal candidate should be driven with strong appetite for continuous learning, experimentation, and an aptitude for identifying business value in the latest technical advances. You will work within and across teams and organizations to provide leading-edge solutions that result in profitable revenue growth for Unisys. They must be able to leverage domain industry insight, driven by data, to deliver differentiating outcomes for clients as well as help build new use cases that drive interest from prospects. Ultimately delivering solutions to influence decision-makers, that illuminate the interplay between data production, consumption and business processes, that with will lead to their success.
Description
The candidate must be adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
Responsibilities for Data Scientist
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Generative AI and other relevant industry standards, trends, and products and apply this knowledge to support the design/delivery of innovative solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Take responsibility for the integrity and delivery of the larger solution or major infrastructure solution area as designated in the project plan.
- Deliver research and prototyping innovations; data and requirements gathering; solution scoping and architecture; consulting clients and client facing teams on advanced statistical and machine learning problems.
- Collaborate and coordinate with different functional teams (i.e. business, engineering or product development) to implement models and monitor outcomes.
- Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms
- Ability to interpret problem statements and implement AI solutions techniques independently with independently / proactively / thought-leadership.
- Conceptualize, design, and deliver high-quality solutions, with emphasis on Generative AI, to deliver insightful analysis.
- Design accurate and scalable prediction algorithms, including assessing quality, cleansing, structuring for downstream processing
- Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
- Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements
- Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies.
- Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
You will be successful in this role if you have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics a plus.
- 10+ years of expert level proficiency in Data Science, Machine learning and AI
- Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
- Expertise with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
- Exposure to clients across a variety of industries and domains with the ability to create efficient solutions to complex problems.
- Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc. Strong skills in data-structure
- Experience of working on end-to-end data science pipeline: problem scoping, data gathering, EDA, modelling, insights, visualizations, monitoring and maintenance.
- Problem-solving: Ability to break the problem into small parts and applying relevant techniques to drive required outcomes. Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
- Strong cloud Knowledge on Azure, AWS, Google platforms
- Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
- Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
