Job Overview: Work with cross-functional teams of software engineers and data scientists to develop advanced machine-learning technologies to support our preclinical research objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify data-driven opportunities to advance PGI’s business interests.
- Design and build scalable services and specialized systems for machine-learning based data analytics.
- Collaborate in the maintenance and development of PGI’s data collection systems, including sensor and processing modules, to improve system performance.
- Research and implement new algorithms and workflows to align with company objectives and enhance predictive modeling capabilities.
- Develop insightful visualizations to effectively communicate data with stakeholders.
- Work with other departments in the analysis and interpretation of complex data projects.
- Enhance the automation and reliability of PGI’s data collection, processing and analysis pipelines to improve efficacy and support continued business decisions.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- BS, MS, or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years in Machine Learning or Data Science roles, demonstrating strong understanding of foundational concepts and practical applications.
- Proven track record of developing and analyzing machine learning models in relevant industries, demonstrating strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with a variety of machine learning models (e.g., decision trees, SVMs, linear models, Bayesian approaches) for classification, regression, and probabilistic modeling tasks.
- Proficiency in Python (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib); optional: Matlab, C/C++, Java.
- Familiarity with storage and database systems (SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing) for efficient data management.
- Hands-on experience processing rich sensor data types (analog sensors, camera feeds) for advanced data analysis and model training.
- Comfortable working with large codebases and software systems, emphasizing modular design and scalability.
- Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git) and code tracking platforms (e.g., GitHub) for collaborative development and codebase management.
- Experience with containerized services in datacenter or cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for deploying, orchestrating, and monitoring machine learning applications.
